Friedrich Heyn Carousel Horse
Carousel Horse. Frederic Heyn, Germany. Restored.
Carousel figures were carved in Europe dating as far back as the 1830's. This work was first found in Germany and then migrated around the Continent. The most well known of the German carvers was Frederic Heyn. His perky, elongated jumpers were most often created for traveling carousels that accompanied carnivals and circuses. This delightful, well restored figures is a Heyn classic.
